September 1943. The italian army is adrifted after Badoglio general noticed the armistice by the radio. Thousand of italian soldiers reach the anglo-american lines not to be imprisoned by German enemies. Attilio is one of them. 30 years later, war seems to be only a bad memory. As everyyear, the opening day, Attilio wakes up at dawn, arms himself, and drives to the wood to start his hunting season.
